“Hong Kong Slope Safety Exhibition – Proper Slope Maintenance for Worry-free Life” from 26 Feb to 2 Mar 2025 at The Wai in Tai Wai
The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), together with relevant government departments, will hold the "Hong Kong Slope Safety Exhibition – Proper Slope Maintenance for Worry-free Life" from 26 Feb to 2 Mar 2025 at The Wai in Tai Wai. Families are welcome. In addition to exhibition boards introducing slope safety in Hong Kong and maintenance for man-made slopes/natural terrain mitigation measures, there will be interactive game booths with souvenirs to promote public awareness on slope safety. Members of the public can bring families and children to learn more about slope safety and proper slope maintenance through fun games such as smart sandbox which could demonstrate the function of rigid barriers and VR games for participants to experience landslide scenarios. Admission is free.
The exhibition will be held between 11am and 8pm from 26 Feb to 1 Mar 2025 and between 11am and 7pm on 3 Mar 2025 on L4 of The Wai in Tai Wai. CEDD will provide docent service for the exhibition boards and a geotechnical engineer will answer questions from the public on slope safety and slope maintenance from 1pm to 3pm on 1 Mar and 2 Mar 2025. There will also be building surveyors and structural engineers from the Buildings Department who will provide information on maintenance of private slopes. A senior estate officer from the Lands Department will answer questions on the use of Slope Maintenance Responsibility Information System (SMRIS) from 3pm to 6pm on 27 Feb and 28 Feb 2025.
