GEO takes part in “Hong Kong Book Fair 2025” to promote slope maintenance and GEO’s publications

The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department will set up a booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair this year to promote slope maintenance and GEO's publications to the public. The Book Fair will be held from 16 to 22 July 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The GEO will showcase how to leverage innovative technologies to enhance the capability to handle landslides and respond to post-disaster risks. Visitors can experience a landslide scenario through virtual reality and take part in virtual tours to the Hong Kong Geoparks. Different phases of the emergent slope repair works for the 2023 Yiu Hing Road landslide are demonstrated through a spatial reality display, allowing participants to navigate the 3D models with naked eyes.

Members of the public are invited to visit the booth located at Stall B25 in Hall 1B of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
