Slope Maintenance Drawing Competition concluded successfully

The Slope Maintenance Drawing Competition, organized by the Geotechnical Engineering Office of the Civil Engineering and Development Department, was concluded successfully. The results were announced at an award presentation ceremony held in the Lecture Hall of Hong Kong Science Museum on 13 July 2025. This territory-wide competition with the theme of "Slope Maintenance" attracted many primary school students in Hong Kong to participate enthusiastically. The competition was well received, with around 350 entries.

The judging panel members are Dr. Raymond Cheung, Head of Geotechnical Engineering Office, Professor William Wong, Associate Dean (External Affairs) of the Faculty of Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dr. Rebecca Lee, Founder of the Polar Museum Foundation, and Mr. Jason Wong, Director and Chief Operating Officer of Modern Educational Research Society Limited. The judging panel members all agreed that most of the entries were very creative and cleverly incorporated the messages of slope maintenance into the drawings, allowing the audience to think deeply about the importance of proper slope maintenance while appreciating the artworks.
