The Geotechnical Engineering Office (GEO) of the Civil Engineering and Development Department will set up a booth at the Hong Kong Book Fair this year to showcase the application of innovative technologies, promote slope maintenance and GEO's publications to the public. The Book Fair will be held from 15 to 21 July 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The GEO will showcase the application of various innovative, smart, and space technologies in geotechnical engineering, which enhance its capability in landslide risk management and emergency response. Members of the public can experience the scene of the 2023 Yiu Hing Road landslide through Virtual Reality (VR) and view aerial photos with a 3D passive stereoscopic monitor. The booth will also feature models with short demonstrations of the "AI Landslip Warning System" and the "SmartAERO – Smart Drone Management Platform", both of which are award-winning innovations at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva this year.

Members of the public are invited to visit the booth located at Stall D26 in Hall 1B of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
